While summer holidays offer a recharging time for most European institutions and companies, hard work must continue uninterrupted to guarantee success.
August 2025 was an active month for Qu-PIC thanks to project partners Ghent University and ALUVIA.
Chupao Lin, postdoctoral researcher at the Photonics Research Group (Ghent University – imec), presented his most recent developments on low low-loss fiber-to-chip coupler at UV/visible wavelengthsย at the ๐ญ๐ฒ๐๐ต ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ข๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ (๐๐๐ข๐ฃ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ), celebrated in Xi’an, China.
Dr. Lin’s results represent a step forward toward Qu-PICs’ ambitious goal of securing a full European supply chain to establish Europeโs sovereignty and manufacturing capabilities in photonics integrated circuits (PICs) for quantum.
Following on this objective, Ward Hendriks, Founder and CTO at ALUVIA, presented Qu-PIC – Horizon Europe during the ๐ญ๐ฏ๐๐ต ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ข๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ป๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด (๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ), celebrated in Delf, The Netherlands.
Dr. Hendriks’ participation in EOSAM helped expand Qu-PIC’s reach among leading researchers and innovators in the European optical community, paving the way for future hashtagcollaborations and use cases for Qu-PIC’s outcomes.
Additionally, our project coordinator, Sonia M. Garcia Blanco, was an invited speaker at the EOSAM Quantum Session, where she presented the advantages of ALUVIA‘s aluminum oxide PIC platform.
