TOPTICA Photonics, founded in 1998 near Munich (Germany), is a privately held laser manufacturing company. 490 people develop, produce, and provide high-end laser systems for scientific and industrial applications. Key technologies include tuneable single-frequency diode lasers from 190 nm to 4000 nm, laser rack systems, ps and fs pulsed fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers, frequency combs from 420 nm to 2000 nm, multi-color laser engines, and THz systems. For its important market quantum technologies (QT), TOPTICA is the main supplier of laser systems. In addition, TOPTICA has started research on and the development of QT subsystems and QT systems to push academic research as well as industrial realization of QT application systems and instruments. TOPTICA’s R&D department consists at present of more than 100 people, many with a degree in physics or engineering. In addition, more than a dozen colleagues with a PhD in physics (mostly obtained within the field of quantum optics) work in other departments and strengthen TOPTICA’s QT spirit. You can find more at www.toptica.com. Lasers are the basis of most quantum technology hardware where they are used to prepare, cool, optically pump, trap, and detect atoms and ions. In the project, TOPTICA will contribute to the realization of integrated quantum systems by sharing its expertise in laser technology. TOPTICA will contribute to the specifications of the gain devices, the passive optical elements, the extended cavity lasers, and the packaging. The project will be supported with design work on the PIC components. Using its fully equipped lab infrastructure, TOPTICA will fully characterize the different components and devices and thus contribute to the success of the project. Qu-PIC
