Quantum and PICs in Eindhoven!
The PIC Summit Europe 2024, held last week in Eindhoven, Netherlands, marked a significant step forward in promoting the goals and addressing the challenges of the Qu-PIC – Horizon Europe project. The event gathered start-ups, end-users, investors, and academics in the field of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs).
Several Qu-PIC partners, including the University of Twente, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB, ALUVIA, and VLC Photonics (Hitachi Group), discussed with the attendees their role in the project and the complexities of developing a toolkit of quantum building for PICs. This initiative aims to accelerate the creation of advanced quantum systems —from concept to packaged solutions— while ensuring that all critical components are available within Europe, a key factor in securing European sovereignty in the emerging quantum technology sector. blocks
